Below are the Local Rules for Calderfields Golf Club, which should be observed at all times.

Dress Code
*      Collared shirts must be worn on the course at all times. (No football/rugby shirts)
*      Smart trou
sers or tailored shorts.
*      Golf shoes must be worn on the course at all times.

NO OTHER DRESS CODE WILL BE ACCEPTED.

 

Out of Bounds

*      All fences and hedges forming the boundary of the course
*      To the left of the white posts when playing up the 11th hole
*      The line of trees to the left and rear when approaching the 18th green
*      The club house, marquee and patio area

Proceed under Rule 27

Note: A ball, out of bounds, over a fence or hedge forming the boundary of the course must not be retrieved. 

 

Water Hazards

*      The lake on the 1st, 8th, 10th, and 16th holes.
*      The ditch in front of the 16th green.

Proceed under Rule 26-1a or 26-1c

Note: Where there is reasonable evidence that a ball has been lost in the pond (in front of the 8th Tee), whilst playing the 16th hole, a replacement should be dropped within 2-club lengths, behind the pond, to the right of the 16th fairway.

Lateral Water Hazards
*      The ditch running all the way along the left side of the 2nd hole.
*      The ditch running down the right side of the 11th hole.
*      The ditch running down the right side of the 15th hole.
*      The ditch on the right side of the 16th hole, from tee to pond by the 8th tee.
*      The green side of the lake on the 8th hole (marked with a red line), where the ball has struck or lay on the greenside bank before entering the hazard.

Proceed under rule 26-1a or 26-1c

 


Ground Under Repair

*      All piled grass cuttings awaiting removal.
*      Any drains or drain works crossing the course.
*      The mound of spoil to the left of the fairway on the 15th hole.
*      The mound of spoil in the rough between the 9th and 18th fairways.
*      All other areas marked with white lines as GUR.

Proceed under rule 25-1b

 


Bunkers

*      Stones in bunkers are treated as moveable obstructions.

Proceed under rule 24-1

 


Immoveable Obstructions

*      All paths, bridges, waste bins, ball washers, tee markers, benches and sprinkler heads.

Proceed under rule 24-2

*      If a ball lies off the putting green but not in a hazard and an immovable obstruction on or within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club-lengths of the ball intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may take relief as follows: The ball must be lifted and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay that (a) is not nearer the hole, (b) avoids intervention and (c) is not in a hazard or on a putting green. The ball may be cleaned when lifted.

 


Protection of Young Trees

*      Protection of young trees, identified clearly by white painted markings on the trunk. If such a tree interferes with a player’s stance, or the area of his intended swing, the ball must be lifted, without penalty, and dropped in accordance with the procedure described in rule 24-2b.
